The Egyptian Validation Study of the Resilience Scale for Adults (RSA) and its Utility in Predicting Depression

Aims: The present study aims at validating the RSA and examining its incremental validity as a predictor of depression measured by Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Methods: 150 healthy participants completed RSA, Sense Coherence Scale (SOC), After ensuring psychometric properties SOC, BDI, 220 Egyptian students were recruited from Minia University to fill in BDI order assess potential capacity predict depression. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that 5-factor structure model fitted well goodness fit indices within acceptable limits. Construct was shown positive correlation between negative with BDI. subscales significantly predicted even when accounting for age gender. Conclusion: is valid reliable instrument measuring resilience sample it could be useful measurement intervention. findings highlight good
